Two jazz legends live on stage! Ron Carter and Richard Galliano are back together since their legendary ‘Panamanhattan’ (1994). They proudly present their newest album, which will be released in March.
Double bass player Ron Carter (1937) contributed on more than 2500 albums (a world record!) and played with icons such as Miles Davis, Eric Dolphy, Dexter Gordon, Cannonball Adderley, Mal Waldron, Thelonious Monk, Herby Hancock and Wayne Shorter, but also joined forces with hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest. During his career he won two Grammy Awards.
Accordionist Richard Galliano(1950) is one of the masters in European Jazz. At a young age, he was inspired by Astor Piazzolla. He has performed live with Charlie Haden, Chet Baker, Wynton Marsalis and Toots Thielemans. In France he was awarded the prestigious Victoire de la Musique several times. He already starred at the 2014 edition of Leuven Jazz upon invitation by Belgian pianist Jef Neve.

Robin Verheyen & Bram De Looze
Saxophone player Robin Verheyen (Marc Copland, New York Quartet, TaxiWars, winner of Jazzmozaiëk Award 2016) and pianist Bram de Looze (Septych, LABtrio, Urbex) are working on a new album, in silence. As a duo, they bring creative and spontaneous contemporary music. Inventive improvisations are combined with their own compositions. At Leuven Jazz you’ll get one of their first live concerts, performing the new material.
